Hello, I am Benedetta, a social designer, artist, and material researcher based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. I work at the intersection of material experimentation, cultural inquiry, and environmental sensitivity. Trained in ceramics and shaped by collaborations with archaeologists, artisans, and industrial partners, I approach materials not as inert substances but as carriers of histories and forms of knowledge. Research and design become acts of learning craftsmanship, retracing tradition, and opening channels for interdisciplinary exchange.

Bio

After my BA studies in industrial design and ceramics at ISIA Faenza (IT), I urged to design with a direct connection to craftsmanship. During my MA in Social Design at Design Academy Eindhoven I experimented towards this end, until my graduation project Conversing with matter , which was nominated for the Gijs Bakker Prize. In 2022, I became tech fellow at Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten, motivated to dive further into the ceramic medium. Since then, I focus on site specific commissions combining research and circular production.
Alongside my private studio path, I enjoy sharing my findings and knowledge as a workshop keeper in the ceramic workshop of Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam, as founder and team member of vuur collective, as LINA (learning, interacting, networking in architecture) community fellow, and as a mentor of the ceramic minor at Design Academy Eindhoven.
