Benedetta Pompili is a social designer based in Amsterdam.
A dedication to the composition of everyday materials identifies her practice, intertwining the cultural background they carry, as well as their environmental impact. To research & design becomes a way to learn craftsmanship, retrace tradition, and share knowledge by thinking and acting in an interdisciplinary way.

Bio

After her BA studies on industrial design and ceramics at ISIA Faenza (IT), she attended the master of Social Design at Design Academy Eindhoven, graduating with Conversing with matter, nominated as best master project of 2021. In 2022, she became tech fellow at Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten, motivated to dive further into the ceramic medium. Since then, she focuses on site specific commissions ground on research and circular production.
Alongside her private studio path, she shares her findings and knowledge as technician of the ceramic workshop of Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam, as founder and team member of vuur collective, as LINA fellow, and as a mentor of the ceramic minor at Design Academy Eindhoven.
